UK Funky isn't really a new thing - it’s a dreadful name though granted, its better to think of Funky not as a new genre but more a way of repackaging something for a different scene as Bok Bok puts it "Funky is Grime in disguise" I tend to agree, while Funky isn't really anything new it's brought just enough grit and sub bass to the rather stale Funky house table to make the grime kids get into it. Grime after all is dying a death partially borne of its own success (Wiley/Dizzee/Tinchy) and partially its lack of evolution and association with gun crime, a lot of Grime DJs have been converted to Funky. (Lil Silva, Mak10 etc) as well as a lot of Dubstep DJs now dabbling in it (Kode9, Geiom, Ramadanman)
